Through a partnership between HUBUD and Five Pillar Foundation, we invite you to embark on one of our exciting adventures to the rural villages of Bali.
What We Will Do:
We will explore Balinese culture by interacting with local villagers, observing their daily routines, and participate in making local foods, spices, and arts. Activities include village walks, learn Balinese house compound, making Balinese cakes and satay, traditional roasting Balinese coffee, learn how Balinese coconut oil is made, plowing a rice field with the aid of a cow, planting rice, eating a sumptuous Balinese-style lunch, and learning traditional Balinese music and dance.

Five Pillar Foundation is a Social Enterprise that aims to position local Balinese villagers to protect and preserve their environment and culture using an integrated approach that considers the five pillars of economic, social, environment, educational, and cultural development. Based on the organization’s ethnographic research and community development work, the organization has developed a variety of educational and community-based travel experiences to fund its work and curate sustainable eco- and community-based travel experiences that create economic opportunity for local communities while also raising international awareness around local Balinese values.
